Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner's fire or a launder's soap. ㅡ Malachi 3:2  그의 나타나는 때에 누가 능히 서리요 그는 금을 연단하는 자의 불과 표백하는 자의 잿물과 같을 것이라 (말라기 3:2) Scrubbing is a good thing ㅡ unless you're a dirty toddler. Refining is also a good thing ㅡ unless you're the matal. In both cases the outcome is good, but the process of getting there can be uncomfotable and even painful. Malachi recognizes that his message needs to get people ready for spiritual refinement. His message was welcomed by people who knew they were dirty and desperately wanted to be cleansed. For them the process was worth the result. But for those who didn't feel dirty it was difficult to submit to John's uncomfortable message. This combines the imagery of Malachi's message with the work of the Holy Spirit. A life committed to Jesus Christ is a life submitted to the cleansing and refining work of the Spirit of God. Again, the process is frightening: it requires loss. You have wearied the Lord with your words. "How have we wearied him?" you ask. By saying --- "Where is the God of justice?" ㅡ Malachi 2:17너희가 말로 여호와를 괴롭게 하고도 이르기를 우리가 어떻게 여호와를 괴롭혀 드렸나이까 하는도다 --- 또 말하기를 정의의 하나님이 어디 계시냐 함이니라 (말라기 2:17) I often have to quote these words to myself. It is easy to blame God when things seem unfair. A few years ago I had the priviege of visiting Haiti. I learned that my own hardships and complaints of injustice are often minor compared with those suffered by people in other lands. Many of our frustrations and inconveniences are merely "first-world problems." Life was not always fair, but others had it far worse. Yet they chose to focus on the few people who had it even better, and they complained that God was unfair. God eventually answered their complaints by saying they had most of it backwards. He sent his Son to die for our sins. The very food we eat and the clothes we wear are provided by God. I've met so many people from poorer countries than mine who seem to understand that fact a lot better than we do. Be on your guard, and do not be unfaithful. ㅡ Malachi 2:16너희 심령을 삼가 지켜 거짓을 행하지 말지니라 (말 2:16)Some Bible versions translate the first part of this verse to say, "'I hate divorce', says the Lord, the God of Israel." God loves love. "God is love"(1 John 4:8)! It is in the very nature of God to hate it when love breaks down. God hates divorce.어떤 성경 번역본들은 이 구절의 오늘 말씀의 첫 부분을 다음과 같이 번역합니다. In fact, God hates divorce because he so loves the people that go through that turmoil. He hates watching them suffer. He hates watching their families and friends suffer. In some situations, God acknowledges the breakup of marriages. But God still hates the pain, frustration, and brokeness that fill the hearts of people he so dearly loves. Many people have found that divorce makes their pain even worse. This verse is key to the whole book of Malachi. God is saying here, "I don't want to divorce Israel!" Often in the Bible, God's people are described as the Lord's unfaithful bride. God would have every right to divorce a people as unfaithful and spiteful as Israel was. But God hates divorce. He loves love. Some marriages cannot be saved. But in the cross of Jesus we learn that God will do all it takes, even suffer death himself, not to divorce his wayward peopleㅡand that inccludes us today. You flood the Lord's altar with tears. You weep and wail because he no longer looks with favor on your offerings --- ㅡ Malachi 2:13 곧 눈물과 울음과 탄식으로 여호와의 단을 가리우게 하도다. 그러므로 여호와께서 다시는 너희의 헌물을 돌아보지도 아니하시며 그것을 너희 손에서 기꺼이 받지도 아니하시거늘 (말 2:13)Considering all the ways God's people have disrespected him, it might seem appropriate that they flood his altar with tears. But they feel sorry for themselves, not for their sin. They're weeping because they're not getting their way. They're not interested in genuine sacrifice.하나님의 백성이 하나님께 무례하게 행하는 모든 것을 생각해 볼 때, 그들은 제단을 눈물로 범람하게 해야 마땅합니다. 그러나 그들은 자신들의 죄가 아니라, 자신들에 대한 회한을 가졌습니다. 그들은 일이 제 뜻대로 되지 않아서 울고 있었습니다. 그들은 진정한 희생엔 관심이 없었습니다. Selfishness is powerful. It often stems from not getting something we think we deserve. Sometimes we might even be right about deserving it. Once while I struggled with bitterness. God probed me: "Why not just let it go?" But I thought, "I have the right to be angry." God did not challenge my right to be angry, but he did show me that I didn't need to exercise that right. Justuce might allow us to be angry or sad, but selfishness often requires those emotions.이기심은 강력합니다. 그것은 종종 우리가 마땅히 받아야 한다고 생각하는 것을 얻지 못하는 데서 기인합니다. 때때로 우리는 받을 가치가 있을만큼 올바를 수도 있습니다. 한번은 내가 쓴 뿌리로 인하여 괴로워하고 있을 때, 하나님께서 나를 깊이 살피셨습니다. Injustices happen to us every day; usually they are small bits of unfairness. "Judah has desecrated the sanctuary the Lord loves by marrying women who worship a foreign god." ㅡ Malachi 2:11"유다는 여호와의 사랑하시는 그 성결을 욕되게 하여 이방 신의 딸과 결혼하였으니"(말 2:11) God cares deeply about family. These verses begin a section of Malachi about how important family is to God.하나님은 가족에 대하여 깊은 관심을 가지십니다. 오늘의 말씀은 가족이 하나님께 얼마나 중요한지에 관한 말라기서의 한 부분을 시작합니다. A family needs a foundation of parents who agree on values and beliefs. In many ways everything we have read so far in Malachi has been leading to this discussion about family. If the community isn't upholding its faith foundation and the religious leaders aren't showing and teaching the importance of their faith, parents will be less likely to lay such a foundation in their family life.가족은 가치와 신념에 동의한 부모의 기초가 요구됩니다. 여러 면에서, 말라기에서 우리가 지금까지 읽은 모든 이야기는 가족에 관한 오늘의 토론으로 이어집니다. 공동체가 믿음의 기초를 유지하지 못하고 종교 지도자들은 신앙의 중요성을 보이지도 가르치지도 않고 있다면, 부모들은 기족 생활에 그러한 기초를 놓을 가능성은 덜할 것입니다.That's what was happening in Malachi's day. With very little sincere trust and love for God in the community, young men were marrying women who didn't believe in the true God and worshiped other gods. What we believe and value has a way of coming out in our family life, even if we think it's unimportant at the time. Imagine the tension in a home where either parent suspects the other of subverting his or her foundational beliefs. The sanctuary noted in our verse id referring not just to the temple but also the safe haven of the home.말라기 시대에 바로 그러한 일이 일어나고 있었습니다. 공동체 안에 하나님에 대한 진정한 신뢰와 사랑이 부족함으로 인하여, 청년들은 참 하나님을 믿지 않고 다른 신들을 숭배하는 여성들과 혼인을 하고 있었습니다. 비록 당시에 우리가 사소한 것이라 생각함에도 불구하고, 우리가 믿는 것과 가치는 우리 가족 생활에서 배어나오는 경향이 있습니다. 배우자 중 한 사람이 상대 배우자가 자신의 근본적인 믿음을 와해시키려 한다고 의심하는 한 가정 안에서 일어날 긴장을 상상해 보십시오. 오늘 말씀에서 언급된 성소는 성전 뿐 아니라 가정이라는 안식처를 의미하기도 합니다. A safe home includes parents who model themselves after the God of love and faithfulness. The God of the Bible loves his children unconditionally and selfsacrificially. He wants familirs in which both parenth learn how to love from his example.안전한 가정은 사랑과 신실의 하나님을 본받는 부모님을 내포합니다. 성경의 하나님은 자신의 자녀들을 무조건적으로 자기 희생적으로 사랑하십니다.. 하나님은 부모 두 사람이 하나님으로부터 사랑하는 법을 배우는 가족을 바라십니다.PRAYER (기도)Father, help us to model our love and faithfulness afterr yours. May we honor you as the foundation of our families, finding direction and refuge in you. In Jesus' name. Do we not all have one Father? Did not one God create us? Why do we profane the covenant of our ancestors by being unfaithful to one another? ㅡ Malachi 2:10우리는 한 아버지를 가지지 아니하였느냐 한 하나님의 지으신 바가 아니냐 어찌하여 우리 각 사람이 자기 형제에게 궤사를 행하여 우리 열조의 언약을 욕되게 하느냐 (말라기 2:10)Unity is very important to God. Throughout the Bible God commands faithfulness and love. God makes and upholds covenants with his people, and he calls us to honor these covenants. God sees all human beings as one family, and he expects us also to see each other and treat each other that way.연합은 하나님께 매우 중요합니다. 성경을 통하여, 하나님의 신실함과 사랑을 명하십니다. 하나님은 백성들과 언약을 맺으시고 유지하십니다. 그리고 이 언약들을 존귀히 여기라고 요구하십니다. 하나님은 모든 인간을 한 가족으로 보십니다. 그는 또한 우리로 그렇게 서로를 바라보고, 서로를 대우할 것을 기대하십니다.   In the area where I live, for two weeks many churches cover their signs with burlap saying "One Lord, One Church." This acknowledges that Christians have not been as united as they should be. Unfortunately, disunity is not a new sin in the church of Jesus Christ. Already in Malachi's time God's people were breaking faith with each other. Instead of acting like brothers and sisters, they often trated each other like enemies. 내가 사는 곳의 많은 교회들은 2주간 "한 주님, 한 교회"라 쓰인 천으로 된 표지판을 걸어 놓았습니다. 이 말은 기독교인들이 그래야 하는 것처럼 연합되지 않았은을 인정하는 표입니다. 불행히도, 불일치는 예수 그리스도의 교회에서 새로은 죄도 아닙니다. 말라기 시대에 이미, 하나님의 백성들은 서로간의 신의를 깨고 있었습니다. 형제 자매처럼 행하지 않고, 그들은 종종 원수처럼 서로를 대했습니다.Jesus came to unite all people. In God's family "there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all"(Colossians 3:11). When Christ has filled someone's heart, that becomes their identity. Having Christ in our heart is deeper than ethnicity because we are all created by the same God and rescued from sin through Jesus Christ.예수님은 모든 사람들을 연합하러 오셨습니다. 하나님의 가족에는 "할례당과 무할례당이냐, 야인이나 스구디아인이나, 종이나 자유인이 분별이 있을 수 없고 오직 그리스도는 만유시요 만유 안에 계십니다(골로새서 3:11). 그리스도께서 누군가의 마음에 가득할 때, 그것이 그들의 정체성이 됩니다. 우리 마음에 그리스도를 품는 일은 민족성보다 더 깊은 것입니다. 왜냐하면 우리 모두는 한 하나님께 지음을 받아 예수 그리스도를 통하여 죄에서 구원을 받았기 때문입니다. The church, God's family, is for everyone adapted by God through Jesus Christ. Christians, let us hold tightly to our brothers and sisters and remain united in God's love. 하나님의 가족인 교회는 예수 그리스도를 통하여 하나님에 의하여 입양된 모든 이들을 위한 것입니다. 기독인들이여, 우리 형제 자매들을 굳건히 붙잡고 하나님의 사랑 안에서 연합하십시오.PRAYER (기도)Dear Jesus, unite us toether in your love. "I have caused you to be despised and humiliated before all the people, because you have not followed my ways but have  shown partiality in matters of the law." ㅡ Malachi 2:9"너희가 내 길을 지키지 아니하고 율법을 행할 때에 사람에게 치우치게 하였으므로 나도 너희로 하여금 모든 백성 앞에서 멸시와 천대를 당하게 하였느니라 하시니라." (말라기 2:9) God does not play favorites. The priests in Malachi's time did. Back then, religious laws had a role in governing people, and a priest's viewpoint could influence public opinion about someone.하나님은 편애하지 않습니다. 말라기 시대 제사장들은 그리하였습니다.  그당시, 종교법이 백성을 통치하는 역할을 했습니다. 제사장의 견해는 어떤 사람에 대한 여론에 영향을 줄 수 있었습니다.Favoritism has three victims: (1) People who are not favored are given a lower place in society than they deserve. (2) People who are favored shrink spiritually, becoming proud and selfish. They aren't missed when they're gone. (3) People who play favorities begin to be viewed with suspicion. They become despised and humiliated, as our verse states. After a time all three types begin to feel stuck where they are. The unfavored just csn't get ahead. The favored become enslaved to their own desires, and sometimes burdened with a sense of owing those who favored them. And those showing favoritism begin to see their self-worthi  in  terms of what they can provide to other influential people.편애는 세종류의 희생자를 낳습니다. (1) 편애받지 못하는 사람들은 그들에게 합당한 것보다 더 낮은 사회적 위치에 처하게 됩니다. (2) 편애 받는 사람들은 교만하며 이기적으로 변하여 영적으로 작아지게 됩니다. 그리고 그들이 사라져도 아무도 기억하지 않습니다. (3) 편애하는 사람들은 의심의 눈초리를 받기 시작합니다. 오늘 말씀이 말하는 것처럼, 그들은 경멸당하고 굴욕을 받게 됩니다. 시간이 지남에 따라 이 세 유형의 사람 모두는 자신의 현실 속에 갇혔다는 느낌을 받게 됩니다. 편애를 받지 못한 사람들은 앞으로 나갈 수 없습니다. 편애를 받은 사람은 자기 자신의 욕망에 노예가 되어, 때때로 그들에게 편애를 준 사람들에게 빚진 느낌으로 부담을 갖게 됩니다. 편애를 보이는 사람들은 자신들이 다른 이들에게 영향력을 미칠 수 있다는 차원에서 자신들의 가치를 보기 시작합니다.     Thankfully God's grace puts a surprising end to the notion of playing favorites. God does not play favorities; yet, through Jesus, God's favor is avalable to anyone who wants it. The favor of God is eternal life and peace. "True instruction was in his mouth and nothing false was found on his lips. He walked with me in peace and uprightness, and turned many from sin." ㅡ Malachi 2:6" 그 입에는 진리의 법이 있었고 그 입술에는 불의함이 없었으며 그가 화평과 정직함 중에서 나와 동행하며 많은 사람을 돌이켜 죄악에서 떠나게 하였는니    라"(말라기 2:6)These words about the tribe of Levi tell us what an influence we can have when we have integrity. Integrity is when everything about us in alignment. Levi's actions were both righteous and peaceful, and they matched Levi's words. The Levites not only avoided being dishonest; they sought to help others understand the truth.  레위 지파에 관한 위의 말씀은 성실함이 있을 때 가질 수 있는 영향력이 무엇인지를 우리에게 알려줍니다. 성실함은 우리에 관한 모든 것들이 정연하다는 뜻입니다. 레위인들의 행동은 의롭고 평화로웠으며, 그들은 언행이 일치되었습니다. 레위인들은 부정직함을 피했을 뿐 아니라, 그들은 다른 이들이 진리를 이해하도록 도우려 애썼습니다.Because the Levites' words and actions were aligned, people were drawn away from sin. Integrity is powerfully  attractive. A lack of integrity turns people away. In Malachi's day, the priestsㅡthat is, the Levitesㅡneeded this reminder. God was saying that if they wanted to see God's blessings again, they needed to live with integrity. Integrity would draw other people to be like them. Sometimes we say the right things, but the way we live or the attitude we carry is not aligned with our words. Other times our behavior is good, but our words might be cruel or vulgar.오늘날 기독교인들은 말라기 시대의 하나님의 백성들과 같이 성실의 문제를 놓고 씨름하고 있습니다. 때때로 우리는 바른 말을 합니다. 그러나 삶의 방식과 수행하는 태도는 우리의 말과 일치하지 않습니다. 또한 다른 때, 우리의 행위는 선하지만, 말은 잔인하거나 저속할 수 있습니다.Integrity would be impossible except for four little words in the example of Levi. "My covenant was with [Levi], a covenant of life and peace." ㅡ Malachi 2:5"레위와 세운 나의 언약은 생명과 평강의 언약이라" (말라기 2:5) God's discipline is meant to restore his people to himself. God has "a covenant of life and peace" with his people, and he longs to restore that relationship. But life and peace do not come easily in this broken world. The covenant with Levi began when the Israelites worshiped a golden calf and ran wild with disobedience. Moses said, "whoever is for the Lord, come to me. "And all the Levites rallied to him"(Exodus 32:26). The Levites became a sort  of police force to restore God's order from chaos. From then on, the reverence shown by the Levites was an indicator of God's restoring his relationship with his people.하나님의 훈계는 백성을 하나님께로 돌이키려는 의도를 내포하고 있습니다. 하나님은 그의 백성들과 "생명과 평화의 언약"을 맺고 계시며, 그 관계가 회복되기를 고대하고 계십니다. 그러나 깨어진 이 세상에 생명과 평화는 쉽게 오지 않습니다. 이스라엘 백성들이 금송아지를 숭배하며 불순종으로 치달았을 때, 레위와의 언약이 시작되었습니다. Once that sounded oppressive to me; now it sounds like the greatest freedom. I am addicted to sin, and death is a continual threat to my life and peace. But through the Holy Spirit, Jesus weans me from those evil powers. When we learn to live in humble community together, submitting to each other's guidance in Christ, we receive a life and peace that few others ever know. If you do not listen, and if you do not resolve to honor my name," says the Lord Almighty, "I will send a curse on you." ㅡ Malachi 2:2만군의 여호와가 이르노라, "너희가 만일 듣지 아니하며 마음에 두지 아니하여 내 이름을 영화롭게 하지 아니하면 내가 너희에게 저주를 내리리라"(말라기 2:2). Throughout the book of Malachi, God is called "the Lord Almighty." "The Lord"(with small capital letters) stands for God's covenant name Yahweh, and it means, "I am who I am"(Gen. 3:14). So this name, "the Lord Almighty," reminds us that God is the all-powerful, loving  God who actively cares for us. In the New Testament this is captured in  the words "Jesus is Lord." The supreme Lord came to rescue us, because that's the kind of God he is (see Col. 1:15-20).말라기서를 통하여, 하나님은 "만군의 여호와"라고 불립니다. "여호와"(대문자)는 하나님의 언약의 이름인 여호와를 의미하며, 그 뜻은 "나는 스스로 있는자"(출 3:14)입니다. 따라서 "만군의 여호와"라는 이름은, 하나님은 우리를 적극적으로 보살피시는 전능하신 사랑의 하나님이심을 상기시킵니다. 이것은 신약성경에서 "예수는 주"라는 말에서 드러납니다. 최고의 주께서 우리를 구하러 오셨습니다. 왜냐하면 그분은 바로 그러한 하나님이시기 때문입니다(참조, 골 1:15-20).Our actions, too, stem from our character, and sometimes our actions show the truth of our hearts more clearly than our words do. Malachi reminds us that our actions should come from a heart set on God. When our actions come from anywhere else, they will be cursed by God. This means they won't bring the results we were hoping for. God will intervene. Sometimes God intervenes through natural processes, bringing foolish actions to commonsense defeat or failure. And sometimes God intervenes supernaturally. God can instantly squash even the craftiest acts of rebellion. 우리의 행동 역시 우리 성품으로부터 나옵니다. 때때로 우리의 행동은 우리의 말보다 우리 마음의 진실을 더욱 분명히 보여줍니다. 말라기는 우리의 행동이 하나님께 뿌리를 둔 마음에서 비롯되어야 한다는 사실을 상기시킵니다. 하나님이 아닌 다른 곳에서 우리 행동들이 비롯될 때, 그 행위들은 하나님께 저주를 받을 것입니다. 이 말은 그 행동들은 우리가 기대하고 있는 결과를 가져오지 않을 것임을 의미합니다. 하나님이 개입하실 것입니다. 때때로 하나님은 자연스러운 과정을 통하여 개입하셔서, 어리석은 행동들로 인하여 패배와 실패를 경험하게 하십니다. 또한 때때로 하나님은 초자연적으로 개입하십니다. 하나님은 가장 교활한 반역조차도 즉각적으로 물리치실 수 있습니다. Rather than rebel against our God and King, we ought to seek his will in prayer. He may guide us by way of Scripture or by a nudge of the Holy Spirit. He may move us to act humbly without clear direction. "You ask, 'How have you loved us?" "Was not Esau Jacob's brother?" declares the Lord. "Yet I have loved Jacob, but Esau I have hated ---"  ㅡ Malachi 1:2-3"너희는 이르기를, '주께서 어떻게 우리를 사랑하셨습니까?' 하는도다. 나 여호와가 말하노라. "에서는 야곱의 형이 아나냐? 그러나 내가 야곱을 사랑하였고 에서는 미워하였으며 ---" (말라기 1:2-5)God's love is not a copy of human love. Sadly, human love is often only a poor copy of God's love, and that causes some confusion when we see God acting or speaking in ways that we might think are not very loving. We like to assume that God's love should meet our approval instead of the other way around. 하나님의 사랑은 인간 사랑의 복사본이 아닙니다. 슬프게도, 인간 사랑은 보통 하나님 사랑의 조악한 복사본에 불과합니다. 헌데 우리가 생각하기에 그렇게 사랑스럽지 않은 방식으로 하나님께서 행하시고 말씀하시는 것을 우리가 보게 될 때, 그것은 다소 혼란을 줍니다. 우리는 우리의 사랑이 하나님의 인정을 받아야 하는 것이 아니라, 하나님의 사랑이 우리의 인정을 받아야 한다고 생각하려 합니다. God's comment on Esau is confusing in this way. Jacob and Esau were brothers, but for unstated reasons God chose to accept Jacob and reject Esau. This goes back to the story of Jacob and Esau from Genesis 27. Many of us think of love as a feeling that might lead to certain choices. Through Jacob, God worked out his plan of salvation that led to Jesus. We might never know the reason for that choice, but we do know that God's love is not led by feelings. We also know that God is not in the habit of rejecting anyone who sincerely wants to be chosen by him. "I have loved you," says our loving God.말라기에서 이 부분이 말하는 바는, 하나님이 에서가 아니라 야곱을 사랑하기로 결정하셨다는 것입니다(야곱의 공로때문이 아니라). 야곱을 통하여, 하나님은 예수님께로 인도하는 구원의 계획을 실행하셨습니다. 우리는 그 선택의 이유를 결코 알지 못할런지 모르지만, 우리는 하나님의 사랑이 감정에 의하여 이끌림 받는 것이 아니란 사실을 압니다. 우리는 또한 하나님이 선택받기를 진심으로 원하는 사람을 거절하는 습관이 있는 그런 분이 아니란 사실을 압니다.  우리 사랑의 하나님께서 말씀하십니다. A prophecy: The word of the Lord to Israel through Malachi. "I have loved you," says the Lord. ㅡ Malachi 1:1-2a여호와께서 말라기로 이스라엘에게 말씀하신 경고라. 여호와께서 가라사대, "내가 너희를 사랑하였노라"(말 1:1-2a).The name Malachi means "my messenger." God has a message for his people, and he wants to make sure they take it seriously from the start. This is a prophecy, God says; this is my word through my messenger. God even uses his covenant name, which in the Hebrew text is YHWH(Yahweh). In English we often render it as "the Lord"(with small capital letters). This is the name God used to describe himself when he made a covenant with his people through Moses (see EX. 3:10-20). Very simply, it is "I have loved you." And behind each one they are wondering, "How have you loved us?" Even if you don't really know him yet. Even if you know him but  have been resisting him or living in rebellion against him. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective ... ㅡ James 5:16의인의 간구는 역사하는 힘이 큼이니라 (약 5:16) In the book Huckleberry Finn, the main character ㅡ Huck, as he was called ㅡ needed fishhooks. Someone had told him that God always answers prayers, so for three days Huck Finn prayed for fishhooks. But he received none. So he concluded: "There ain't nothing in it."   소설 '허클베리 핀'의 주인공 헉은 낚싯대가 갖고 싶었습니다. 누군가 하나님이 항상 기도에 응답한다고 알려주자, 3일 동안 낚싯대를 구하는 기도를 합니다. 하지만, 사흘이 지나도 낚싯대를 얻지 못했습니다. 그래서 헉은 "기도해 봐야 소옹없네"라고 생각합니다. James tells us that the prayers of a righteous person are powerful and effective. Jesus said that if we ask anything in his name, he will do it. In Isaiah 65:24 we're told that God answers before we even call on him. And yet there seem to be so many unanswered prayers. We pray for healing, but healing doesn't happen. We ask for open doors, but one door after another slams shut. We plead with God to help us overcome an addiction, but there's no change.야고보는 의인의 간구가 역사하는 힘이 크다고 말씀합니다. 예수님은 우리가 그분의 이름으로 구하는 것은 무엇이든지 허락하겠노라 하셨습니다. 이사야서 65장 24절에서는 우리가 부르기 전에 하나님께서 응답하신다고 말씀합니다. 하지만 응답받지 못한 기도가 많은 것처럼 보입니다. 치유함의 역사를 구하기 위해 기도하지만, 나음을 얻지 못합니다. 문을 열어주시기를 구하지만, 문이 계속 닫히기만 합니다. 중독에서 빠져나오게 도와달라고 간청하지만 삶에 아무런 변화가 없습니다.Does God answer prayer? Of course he does. But prayer is not meant to give us anything we might want. God promises to give what we ask for when we ask in line with his will for our lives and for his world (1 John 5:14-15). 하나님이 기도에 응답하나요? 물론 응답해 주십니다. 그러나 기도란 우리가 원하는 모든 것을 허락하신다는 의미가 아닙니다. 하나님께서는 우리 삶과 그분의 나라를 향한 그분의 뜻대로 구할 때, 우리가 구한 것을 허락하신다고 약속하셨습니다(요일 5:14-15).We pray in order to connect with God and to share how thankful we are for who he is and all he has done for us. Praying is our communication line with the Lord. He hears all our prayers and answers them according to our needs and according to his will.우리는 하나님과 연합하기 위해 기도하며, 우리에게 하나님 되심으로 인해 얼마나 감사한지, 우리를 위해 행하신 그 모든 것에 감사하는마음을 나누기 위해 기도합니다. 기도란 우리가 주님과 소통하는 창입니다. 하나님께서는 우리의 모든 기도를 들어주시고, 우리의 필요와 그분의 뜻에 따라 그 기도에 응답해 주십니다. PRAYER (기도)Thank you, Lord, for hearing us and for answering our prayers. Help us to understand that you know exactly what we need, and that you answer our prayers accordingly. Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. ㅡ James 5:14그는 교회의 장로들을 청할 것이요 그들은 주의 이름으로 기름을 바르며 그를 위하여 기도할지니라 (약 5:14) When I learned that my cancer had returned, it was just a few days before a significant youth event that I was coordinating at our church. So I decided to keep the news close, in a small circle, and not distract people from the ministry event. My colleague, however, pleaded with me to let the elders and the church family pray.암이 재발했다는 소식을 들었을 때, 우리 교회에서 기획하고 있던 중요한 청년부 행사를 며칠 앞둔 상황이었습니다. 그래서, 그 소식을 가까운 몇몇 사람들에게만 알리고, 다른 사람들이 교회 행사를 진행하는데 방해가 되지 않게 해야겠다고 마음 먹었습니다. 하지만 제 직장 동료들은 장로와 교회 가족들이 함께 기도할 수 있도록 알리게 해달라고 부탁해왔습니다.For many people who receive bad news about serious illness, their first instinct is to try to handle it on their own. But that is not God's design for the body of Christ. Instead, James instructs us to call the set-apart leaders, bring the people together, confess our sins, anoint with oil, and pray for healing.중병에 대한 나쁜 소식을 들으면, 대부분의 사람은 본능적으로 자기만의 방식으로 그 일을 다루려고 합니다. 그러나 그것은 그리스도의 지체들을 향한 하나님의 계획이 아닙니다. 대신, 야고보는 우리에게 담당 지도자들을 불러 사람들을 모으고, 우리의 죄를 고백하고 기름을 바르며 치유를 위해 기도하라고 가르칩니다.The prayers of the righteous are powerful and effective, and the prayer of faith can help make the sick person well. We believe God can heal ㅡ and often does ㅡ and yet we also know that faithful people can become terribly sick and die.
