God --- made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions. ㅡ Ephesians 2:4-5 

 --- 하나님이 ---허물로 죽은 우리를 그리스도와 함께 살리셨고 --- (엡 2:4-5)

A greater contrast than that of night and day is the contrast of past and present, then and now. In the past, paul explains, we were "dead in transgressions." But now, because of God's grace, we are "alive with Christ."

밤과 낮의 대조보다 훨씬 더 큰 대조는 과거와 현재, 그때와 지금의 대조입니다. 과거에 우리는 "허물로 죽은" 상태였었다고 바울은 설명합니다. 

그러나 하나님의 은혜덕분에 "그리스도와 함께 살아났습니다."

Before tje days of modern communication, a treaty might be signed between warring nations exhausted by combat, and yet fighting might cintinue in places where the news of a ceasefire had not arrived. War-weary soldiers would still have to endure skirmishes and wounds inflicted by the enemy.

현대의 커뮤니케이션이 없던 시절에는 전투 때문에 소진된 양 전쟁국가 사이에 조약이 체결되어도 정전의 소식이 아직 전해지지 않은 곳에서는 전투가 계속될 수 있었습니다. 전쟁에 지친 병사들은 소규모의 접전을 견디며 적군이 가하는 상처를 참아내야 했을 것입니다. 

In some ways, spiritual warfare is like that. Through the ultimate vicory has been won in Christ, we still face the skirmisheses of spiritual combat. Our enemy, the devil, still uses every opportunity to inflict pain on the people of the victorious Savior. To our benefit, though, we know not only the reality of our struggle with sin but also the glory that makes us alive in Christ. The forces of darkness want to pull us down by pointing to our continuing failures. But because we are "alive with Christ," we see the signs of victory.  

어떤 점에서 영적 전투가 그와 같습니다. 비록 궁극적인 승리는 그리스도 안에서 승리한 바이지만, 여전히 영적인 전투의 소규모 접전에 우리가 직면해 있습니다. 우리의 대적 마귀는 아직도 호시탐탐 승리하신 구주의 백성들에게 고통을 가할 기회를 노리고 있습니다. 그렇지만 죄와의 싸움의 현실만이 

아니라 그리스도 안에서 우리를 살아나게 해주는 영광에 대해서도 아는 것이 우리에게 유익합니다.  어둠의 세력들은 계속해서 일어나는 우리의 실패를 지적해서 우리를 끌어내리려고 합니다. 그러나 우리는 "그리스도와 더불어 살아났기" 때문에, 승리의 표시를 목도하고 있습니다.

We are prepared to look ahead to the future consummation of the age and the great resurrection at Christ's return. But Paul states that we begin to experience that vitality now. The war is over, the victory won - and we are alive in Christ today!

우리는 그리스도의 재림 때에 있을 세상의 장차의 완성과 큰 부활을 대망할 준비가 있습니다. 그러나 바울은 우리가 그 생명력을 지금 경험하기 시작한다고 말합니다. 전쟁은 끝났고 승리는 쟁취되었습니다. 그래서 우리는 오늘 그리스도 안에서 살아 있습니다!

PRAYER (기도)

Lord of life, raise the banner of your victory in our lives! Because you have secured glorious life for us forever, support us now in times and places of struggle. In your name, Amen.

생명의 주님, 우리의 삶 가운데에 당신의 승리의 깃발을 올리소서! 주님이 우리를 위해 영원히 영광의 삶을 획득해 놓으셨으므로, 이제 싸움이 있는 때와 장소에서 우리를 지원해 주시옵소서. 예수님 이름으로 기도드립니다. 아멘.
